The Tool Assembly System uses parametric techniques to automatically generate true-to-scale tools and tool assemblies for use in realistic replays during NC part program development and subsequent shop floor drawings. During the assembly process, only tools available for the next component of the assembly will be displayed, eliminating the guess work during assembly. The module enables users to maintain tool libraries and automatically generate tool sheets with complete , itemized bill of materials. TAS allows users to define any tool shape and tool holder shape for both lathes and mills. TAS explicitly supports both ANSI and ISO standards for lathe inserts. The module also helps manage tool inventory by reducing the number of components.
